Need a Contract?

What is a contract?

A contract is defined as an agreement between two or more parties that is intended to have legal and binding effect.  Contracts document a common understanding between the parties as to the essential terms of their agreement, contain mutual obligations, and set forth the agreement’s consideration.

What types of contracts are there?

Contracts come in many forms and can be written or oral.  Written agreements are always preferred.  Please contact us to determine what kind of contract you may need.

What should I be concerned about?

Contracts contain risks for the college for nonperformance, breach, and risk of liability such as someone who gets hurt and seeks compensation from Vassar. The dollar value of the contract does not always dictate the risk to the college.
